Sailor's Farewell by Kit Kemp
Sail Away with the latest beautiful Kit Kemp tableware collection. The stylish range is inspired by an original drawing by John Craxton of a sailor’s wife waving farewell. ‘After seeing that beautiful drawing it sparked my imagination, it blends my love of craft and simple folk art in a fun and lyrical way’ Kit Kemp.
Kit Kemp is best known as the co-owner and Design Director for Firmdale Hotels, author and interior designer who is famous for her eclectic and colourful designs, has now designed our latest china tableware collection Sailors Farewell.
Within the design, a sailor’s loved-one is seen waving goodbye on a rock with her scarf flying in the wind. As she waves goodbye the motifs around the china pieces show the sailors adventures on the high seas both above and below the waterline. The rust red sails of his sailing ship pass by whales and merfolk fishing, there are two little dogs alone on the high seas, seagulls flying above the lighthouse, and the enticing sight of a house under a palm tree on a faraway desert island. Below in the depths is a frogman, a curious octopus and the flashing fins of many fishes.
The full tableware collection is available in a variety of pieces from table to serving and tea ware. Every piece in the collection is made from fine bone china with a pale linen blue finish and intricately decorated gold decoration.
